Reclaim Advantage! Reclaim Life! What's the Difference?

It might seem absurd that one could create a new form of muscular therapy that would make a difference in people's lives. After all, there's your basic Deep Tissue, Swedish Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Active Release and then recent body work modalities like KMI Structural Integration and Zero Balancing. I've done the research both as a client and through working with Jeffrey Spratt,MT at Spratt Muscular Therapies as his Communications and PR Director. While each have their place and I'm sure many experience benefits from these different modalities, especially when there is the right fit between therapist and client, it is through partnering with Jeffrey using the Spratt Method of Muscular Therapy that I am able to reclaim advantage and reclaim life after horrific life events, paralytic polio at age 5 and 9 years of unrelenting violence, being tortured as a violence and the suicides of my father when I was 17 and my nephew 5 years ago.

Last night I attended IM Boston's Brews and Views event. Jeffrey had been interviewed as a Boston highlight and they invited us to attend the event. The views (I passed on the brews) were spectacular:

Colorful and flavorful appetizers were set against the backdrop of our beautiful City.

As I mingled through the crowd I met fascinating people, many of whom had been featured in IM Boston's on line magazine.

Passion, purpose and pioneers - people wanting to make a difference, all of whom have the courage to stand out and share a deep love for Boston filled the Ava Theater District Apartments roof deck.

The exchange of energy was as brilliant as the setting sun as everyone allowed their Spirits to shine.

There was an instant connection with Boston Georgina:

I was delighted to meet up with two BU COM grad students and chat with Kaitlin, a BU COM student who interviewed Jeffrey last week to share his story with the IM Boston community. I shared how back in the day we had to use manual typewriters for our journalism class. But some things don't change with the passage of time and journalism students still write about fires and obituaries!

Sharing my story and Jeffrey's pioneering work brings me such joy especially when our passion and purpose is reflected back through the lens of excitement in others' eyes.

Jeffrey could not settle for practicing traditional massage therapy. His commitment to helping people reclaim advantage and reclaim life through the power of positive touch knowing how massage therapy at its finest can be life saving and at its very basic be momentum changing moved him to find a more effective and efficient way to practice the art and science of massage therapy.

So what's the difference? People who are fierce about making a difference being the unique Beings they are meant to be and daring to stand out from the crowd.

Thank you IM Boston for standing out from the crowd with your unique on line magazine highlighting the wonderful people who make up the very fiber of the weave of the tapestry of our City. Thank you for dedicating your site to the people of Boston and bringing us together to share our views and the magnificent views of Boston.

If you are a Bostonian with a story to tell, let IM Boston hear from you.

To your health and wellness,
Mary
